Hello…..My name is Rachel Tween, I am a UKCC level 2 Coach.

I grew up on my family farm in Suffolk surrounded by animals and fields. Horses very quickly became my passion, I was lucky enough to have my own pony from 6 years of age. Getting up before school to help my Father look after my pony, and weekends full of pony pampering and riding very quickly became our way of life and how I would spend my childhood.
By the age of 12 I had out-grown my wonderful pony, Millie. My parents by this point had realised that I was unlikely to grow out of my passion for horses!! |So….Oden came along, he was to become my best friend and the centre of my life for the next 15 years. Together we spent endless hours hacking around our farm, seeing the world together and learning as we went. Oden was the classic description of an ‘all-rounder‘ and taught me more than I could ever wish for.

After finishing my A-Levels and leaving school in 2012 I went to work for PSG Dressage Rider and UKCC Level 3 British Dressage Accredited Coach, Lynn Perry. During my 3 years working alongside Lynn, I gained invaluable experience working with a wide variety of horses, from Foals and newly backed youngsters to the more established Dressage horses and everything in between. During my time there I fell in love with one of Lynn’s homebreds, Sam. Sam was one of my rides, I had backed and produced him from day one. I persuaded lynn to sell him to me, this meant that I was able to pursue my dreams of competing professionally.

Sam has successfully gone from strength to strength and is showing real promise for our future together. My aim is to continue taking him up the British Dressage levels, reach our goals and furfill our potential together.

In 2018 I decided to embark on another dream of mine and train to become a UKCC coach. Coaching allows me to support riders of all ages and abilities, to discover the skills needed to nurture an effective partnership with their horse, and in turn enables them to achieve harmony and their individual goals.

In 2019 I was fortunate to work alongside and was mentored by Olympian Sharon Hunt at her Training Centre. Together we delivered ‘Combined Training’ clinics and I was able to develop my CPD portfolio by observing a variety of internationally renowned and respected coaches such as Centaur Biomechanics Russell Guire, British Dressage Grand Prix rider and Coach Charlie Hutton, Dressage Olympian Emile Faurie and Show Jumping legend John Ledingham.

I am fortunate to be able to spend my days with my canine companion, Archie, and my equine companion Sam, riding and coaching. I coach right across East Anglia and at my base in Stowmarket, i offer private, joint and group sessions and clinics.
